The next version of Microsoft's Windows Operating System may include an automatic patching system designed to keep your PC games up to date, assuming you believe a second-hand screenshot published by Shacknews.
The picture, originally provided by ThinkNext (a blog that has subsequently been contacted by Microsoft and asked to remove the screenshot), appears to show an options menu from Windows 7 offering gamers the opportunity to have the OS "Automatically scan for updates" for games.
Based on the screenshot it is unknown where Windows 7 would find these updates (a central repository, or if it would actually crawl the entirety of the internet) or if this option only applies to Microsoft's own games, but it does seem like a convenient ability that would mirror the "update" functionality of Xbox Live.
