Electronic Arts wants you to know that Spore is officially a huge success.
Since the game's September 7 release, over 1 million copies have been sold and players have uploaded more than 25 million creatures and surprisingly Freudian spaceships to Sporepedia, the game's online content repository.
"Will Wright’s latest delivers an incredibly diverse game that appeals to casual gamers and the core alike," said EA Games president Frank Gibeau. "We’re off to a great start moving into the holiday season and believe Spore will deliver a platform of creativity for gamers of all stripes for years to come."
Unfortunately for opponents of EA's controversial DRM scheme, Spore's tremendous sales probably won't deter the company from applying the system to future games, no matter how many internet petitions they receive.
